January 2009

My husband and I had the MAGNIFICENT experience of witnessing history in the making…the inauguration of President Barack Obama!!!  Having been born and raised in D.C., it was, indeed, a special homecoming for me!

Braving the 17 degree windchill factor (being around so many folks helped to break most of the wind!), we tearfully watched our 44th President get sworn in.

Having witnessed the vast multitude of everyday people that volunteered their time to make such a huge event run relatively smoothly, plus President Obama’s call to action on this subject, I am called to the major importance of giving back to our fellow man by  volunteering!

As a Boomer, volunteering is both rewarding and beneficial.  I would like to provide you and others a great link to volunteer resources!  It can be found on my website, Baby Boomer Resource Center.com.

On the left toolbar, click on Volunteering, and you’ll discover great online resources for helping others.

Check out a great annuities guide website provided by MetLife.  It’s called, Income Annuities Guide.

The site provides interactive scenerios to illustrate how an annuity can stretch your retirement nest egg.  Also, use their Retirement Toolbox, Retirement Income IQ Quiz, Long-Term Calculator, and more!
